Vasileios P. Bokos
The Secretary General is responsible for the following duties:
- He is entrusted with the responsibilities delegated to him by the Mayor through a formal decision.
- The Secretary General supervises all municipal staff and exercises top-level oversight and control over all municipal services.
Born in 1978, Vasileios P. Bokos studied law and political science at the Universities of Thrace, Munich, and Athens, and holds a postgraduate degree in International and European Studies. His thesis was titled “The Integration Principle of Environmental Considerations into EU Policies.” Since 2004, he has been a practicing lawyer and a member of the Athens Bar Association, handling cases in civil and commercial law. Since 2017, he has also specialized in and provided consulting services on Blockchain technology, artificial intelligence—serving as Secretary General of the Artificial Intelligence Group (OTEN – AI Catalyst)—startup financing, and sharing-economy companies.
Since 2004, he has also worked as a scientific associate in the Hellenic Parliament on matters related to the Ministries of Interior, Justice, Citizen Protection, Environment and Energy. His main areas of interest include environmental, energy, and climate issues, European integration, culture, local government, and emerging technologies. He has published essays and articles in scientific and other journals and has received distinctions for his work. He speaks German, English, and French, and participates in volunteer and cultural groups.
