The Municipal Committee is composed of the Chair and eight Municipal Councillors. Of these, five belong to the majority faction and three to the minority factions.

The Municipal Committee exercises exclusive competences as defined in Articles 63, 72, 73 and 74A of Law 3852/2010, as amended and in force, as well as in other specific provisions within the applicable regulatory framework (laws, presidential decrees and regulatory decisions) under which powers are conferred upon the Committee.
Its operation is governed by Article 75 of Law 3852/2010, as amended and in force.
