- The Section applies the provisions of the current urban planning legislation regarding unauthorized constructions and buildings that are structurally, statically, or hygienically hazardous.
- Maintains a registry of incoming and outgoing documents and manages their circulation within the Section.
- Implements inspection procedures for unauthorized constructions: conducts site inspections, orders suspension of construction work, prepares reports determining construction and maintenance fines, and imposes the legally required penalties.
- Submits appeals to the Supreme Council for Planning and Building Matters (SYPOTHA) and attends hearings.
- Certifies compliance and issues related certificates.
- Issues final decisions for the demolition of unauthorized constructions.
- Implements procedures for legalization and exemption from demolition.
- Completes the final processing and verifies the validity of data in regulations/settlements of unauthorized constructions.
- Maintains and updates files of unauthorized constructions, hazardous buildings, and exemption cases.
- Responsible for imposing fines in accordance with current legislation.
- Handles the conversion of maintenance fines into lump-sum payments according to applicable laws and provides the necessary recommendations and reports.
