If you book an appointment for this specific service, you must be aware of the following information and also have with you the following documents:
Required Documents
The father may acknowledge as his own a child born out of wedlock, provided that the mother consents, and this is done by declaration before a notary.
The following are required:
- Physical presence of both parents with their identification documents
- Notarial deed of voluntary acknowledgment
- Family Status Certificate of the mother showing that she is unmarried
ATTENTION:
In the following cases, where a late declaration incurs a fine, please contact the phone number 2105277934 or the email t.genniseon@athens.gr
- If the voluntary acknowledgment is declared more than one (1) month after it is drawn up, it is subject to a fine provided by law.
- If the voluntary acknowledgment concerns an unborn child, the declaration must be made within one (1) month of the child’s birth. Otherwise, a fine will be imposed as stated above.
PLEASE NOTE THAT EACH APPOINTMENT CONCERNS ONE CHILD BORN WITHIN THE MUNICIPALITY OF ATHENS. PARENTS WITH MORE THAN ONE CHILD MUST BOOK A CORRESPONDING NUMBER OF APPOINTMENTS.
